  1. Reclaiming Our Home!

    Posted by mjd1032@yahoo.com on 18th May 2018

We have 2 kitties who just turned a year old. They are in to everything, climbing drapes & shower curtains and starting to work on furniture! The last straw was when the little girl got startled and stuck her claw into my eyeball. After a scary emergency room visit and 2 weeks of healing, she got the white part so antibiotics & eye drops, all is well! There was no way I could have them declawed but something had to be done. They have scratching posts, toys (they love fetch!) and a cat tree with lots of surfaces which they use often...but the claws have been out of control. Soft Paws has been amazing for our littles! There is a bit of a learning curve in applying them...some didn't exactly go on straight. Our boy was not to happy with the process but once he was held & loved he let them go on quickly. They have had them on for 3 weeks and I've had to replace 3 each cat...I think the learning curve with application comes into play there. They do not even seem to know that they have them on! They still scratch their posts, play with their toys with us, and wrestle each other. And there is not any noticeable extra "aggression" such as biting because their claws are altered or issues with the potty box. Abby proudly wears her pink princess paws and Rex wears his big boy blue paws happily! After I place our next Soft Paws order it will be time to order new drapes & a shower curtain! :)

  2. Good Idea, but cats can be picky

Posted by Catherine on 2nd May 2018

I was impressed upon the idea of having something on our cats nails to protect our bed mattresses, screen doors and owner clawing. Our cat unfortunately wasn’t impressed. We had to get our local vet, who had done them before, to help us put them on due to our cat not liking her paws being messed with. After she returned home, our cat was stylish and looked all fancy. My husband called her “twinkle toes”. Our cat however didn’t like them on and got every chance she could to bite at them. She managed to take off three from her back paws within three days , pulling out some of her hair in the process. She had to work at them though. The glue was very effective, but hadn’t kept our cat from biting them off. She gave up eventually since I haven’t seen any others on the floor. So far so good. The ones that are on do prevent the scratching of household items and have helped our family from being her scratch post. I am greatful though. I wish there was a way to make the nail covers have a nasty taste only cats could taste (like the polish you use for nail biters ) so if they persisted (like our cat did) it would detract them from biting them? Maybe something to try out?
Overall, good product, nice look and better than I thought they would be.

Note from Soft Paws: Many cats do pick at the caps when they are first introduced to them, and they usually get used to them and leave them alone after a bit. We have many customers who have success using Yuk (https://www.softpaws.com/yuk2e-anti-lick-gel/) or Bitter Apple Spray (https://www.softpaws.com/grannicks-bitter-apple-spray/) to deter chewing of the caps, as well. Also, cats will often get better about having the caps applied over time. Thanks for your review!

  3. great scratch prevention, but size matters

Posted by Unknown on 1st May 2018

The product is great for preventing scratches. The cats still use their scratching post even though their claws are covered. Once you find a size and color that works, stick with it. There seems to be great variability in "medium" when you change colors.

  4. Impressed

Posted by Anthony Wilhelm on 1st May 2018

At first, I was skeptical about this being a true solution to cat scratching damage.

I purchased sets for 2 cats.

They each lost (3) in the first week, but I realized I just needed to apply glue more liberally.

Regardless, I appreciate having a (40) pack for such instances.

They have no issues wearing them.

It gets easier to apply each time.

    The color options are fun

Bottom line: -still in trial stage- but as long as these last me a couple months each, I'll be purchasing Soft Paws regularly!!! Fingers crossed.

PS. Added benefit I didn't consider:
Many people I talked to about declawing were against it solely for the sake of the cats inability to fend for themselves outdoors. Naturally I refuted, as my cats live indoors.
But what I didn't think about, is that if they ever did 'get out', once the Soft Paws fell off naturally, their claws would allow them to fend freely!

  5. solved our problem

    Posted by audreyjhess@gmail.com on 13th Apr 2018

Love this product. My cat scratches both horizontally and vertically. He’s also extremely sensitive to external stimuli so I was worried he’d try biting the SoftPaws off. Once I affixed them to his claws he paid virtually ZERO attention to them and was not bothered at all. My reason for 4⭐️ Rating is that a few have them have fallen off (I just stuck another on each claw). Now if he claws at new carpet and/or we notice a snag, we know he needs another replacement.

  6. Saved My Furniture

Posted by Rachael Harlow on 9th Apr 2018

My daughter recently moved back with 2 cats, right after we bought brand new furniture. We found these on line, they were easy to put on, we've only had a couple come off, and the cats don't mind them at all.

  7. a life saver!!!

Posted by Unknown on 5th Apr 2018

Turtle has an immune system dysfunction and constantly is scratching her ears to the point they bleed. Since using soft paws on her the bloody ears have stopped and she can’t break her claws off when she’s playing too hard (she’s 13!). I used them on my other cats front paws to save my furniture but they were too smart and figured how to chew them off. Turtle’s back claws look beautiful in pink glitter and we always get compliments from the vet’s office!

  8. could not have asked for better

Posted by hannah on 4th Apr 2018

I ordered these after lots of research on different products like these. I saw an add on a website for how to stop cars from ruining furniture. They are really easy to put on, and so far they have lasted for a week and a half. They don’t bother my cat. I read a lot of reviews that at first they will come off because the cat will attempt to get them off, I have not had that problem. He is still cable of doing all “cat things” with them on, and they for sure do protect your furniture and your skin. I will be ordering again. Also, the colors are super fun!

  9. Pretty Paws

My kitty has worn Soft Paws "Pink Glitter" for several years now and it looks so pretty and we have received numerous compliments!

  10. SAVED MY CAT!!!

Posted by Rosi on 28th Mar 2018

I was at my wit's end. I didn't know what else to do. I had "cat proofed" my house as best I could; i sprayed vinegar on furniture, used catnip, had numerous scratching posts throughout my house and my cat would not stop clawing at my furniture. It was awful! The Softclaws are the best thing I have ever seen. I took him to the vet to have them put on because I wanted to make sure someone knew what they were doing. It has been 10 days and he is purrfect!!! Seriously, these things saved my cat. I am sooo happy with this. I will be buying them as often as I need them. He has not been able to remove any of them. The Vet told me "thank goodness you bought the real ones, because their glue really works"!

    Seriously, could not be happier!
