Cats love to play with wand toys. It simulates a hunt, where they can pretend to be a great predator chasing a mouse or bird. All you have to do is move the wand around and make the “prey” move realistically, and you’ll have a fun romp on your hands.
The sushi swatter has the additional fun of having characters dangling from it that are stuffed with a combination of catnip and silvervine. This combination often appeals to cats that don’t normally react to catnip and it’s a stronger magnet for those that do.
This toy should only be used with supervision, as wand toys can be strangulation hazards for cats that play with them alone.
